MSI H67MA-E45 (b3) 2500k 4 beeps

Hello,

I'm trying to upgrade my dads PC with a 2500K, its supported by his motherboard (msi h67ma-e45 (b3)) but after install I get 4 beeps, it's driving me nuts and the MSI website is taking me in circles, the BIOS is B.C0 (I can't update this any higher) but this supports 2500k, the 2500k has just come from a working PC, That's been upgraded with a 3770k.

4 beeps - Timer not operational - bad motherboard, although the Mboad works fine with the old CPU

Any advice?

4 beeps is usually ram? tested the ram at all, properly seated?

Updated the BIOS (what a pain that is with MSI) and working fine now..cheers for the suggestion.
