MSI HD 7970 Lightning.

That sounds about right, as I said earlier, the actual jack will be 8 pin on both but only one will actually have 8 wires as one terminates in an 8pin PCIE connector and the other terminates in a 6pin PCIE connector :)

Thanks again mate. will call you again with whatever gpu I end up getting. I want the msi lightning the most. Moneys tight....still waiting on my friend for the rest of the cash then I can buy it.

Cheers:)

You won't regret it :)

Are you gaming at 1920x1080 @ 60hz?

yes. I have my Monitor 23" and my 1080p 60hz HDTV both are hook up at the same time. The card I have now isn't the greatest. XFX R7850 Core Edition. I put a cooler on it because it got so hot near 90C on full load and the cooler works great, but overclocking it is a joke.

With this new card I wont have any issues. I might not even need to overclock that much. It's a powerful gpu. can't wait to get it:)

I read more of the MSI 7970 lightning review and heres a quote

Radeon HD 7970 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 7970 Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
If you are going to overclock the GPU or processor, then we do recommend you purchase something with some more stamina

My 600Watt OCZ should be enough for this GPU? I will overclock a little I'm sure. I just have to make sure before I buy this that my PSU can handle this card?
Note: I wont be doing crossfire, Just 1 gpu.

I'm sure it would be fine too. I've got a heavily over clocked sandy bridge system and a 7950 and have no problems with a 650w PSU.
