I recently changed from a MSI X570 to the MSI X670E motherboard and am getting less than half my previous Wi-Fi throughput.

PC box is in the same place, and I tried rebooting the router, but am struggling to understand what could have caused this drop in speed.

Any ideas?

Is it connecting via 2.4 instead of 5ghz, or the other way around?
Check power settings isn't putting it into a low power mode.
Make sure latest drivers from Intel or whomever make it, do they have an app you can see details about it connecting?
I've jusst been through the frequency, and power mode setting.
The driver version installed is newer than that presented on the MSI website. Should I trust MSI know better then Windows and roll that back?

@Nelly I'll go through them one by one at lunchtime to double check.

I've just tested my iPad sat beside the PC, and it's getting >2.5 x faster data throughput.

I saw a comment on reddit, and I'm going to find the old aerials from the X570 and stick them in to see if that helps at all.
edit: just to state I tested the old aerials, it made no difference either.

Hopefully we'll find soemthing @GoRedwings19

For comparison, my approx data rates are:
iPad = 500 down, 100 up
x570 = 400 down, 100 up
x670 = 160-180 down, 100 up

I notice that my new PC box has the PSU located closer to the Wifi aerials than the old box.

edit: I was upside down.

I ran through the different channel options on the router (Virgin Hub 5), and now getting 275-300 Mbps.
A step in the right direction.
