Hi everyone I just got this motherboard installed so thought I would get an owners thread going.

Specs are:
  1. MSI MAG Tomahawk X870E
  2. 9800x3D
  3. 64GB (2x 32GB) Corsair Vengeance 6000 EXPO
One thing I notice is the boot times are RIDICULOUSLY long with this motherboard. I googled to find info and saw advice to update the BIOS, disable all unnecessary boot devices and also to Enable the setting in BIOS called "Memory Context Restore". It made no noticeable difference.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue and did you manage to get it fixed? :)

Have you flashed the latest bios?

To see if it is taking ages due to memory training you can try to boot with the EXPO settings off and see if it is faster.

Also what is your boot drive?
Yes, I wrote I updated the BIOS and my spec including SSD is in my sig. I theoretically disabled the memory training but ill look whenever i can be arsed next week. I have some gaming to do now and KCD2 is just... wow.
For those with the X870E Tomahawk, are you flashing latest BIOS before installing the 9800X3D?

The box says AMD 9000 ready, so not sure I'll bother when I get round to setting mine up.
Flash after you install the CPU, don't need to do it before. It's always good to update the BIOS when the shipping one will be months old.

I got this motherboard just before xmas along with a 7800X3D and yes I also initially had very long boot times but the next boot after that and thereon has now been 15-30 seconds on average. I believe first boot was memory training etc.
I get it all the time, so do many others on the interwebs. I hope I can figure it out soon. :(

Other than that the system seems to be running sweet so far though!

Guys I've got these two device drivers missing.

Sorted it out in the end. Downloaded the onboard AMD driver from MSI website and installed only the driver.
There is no way I am installing AMD GPU drivers in a system where I am running an Nvidia card. Why would you install those drivers, are you planning to use the onboard AMD GPU? I just disabled it everywhere in BIOS.

I downloaded the on board vga drivers from the msi website and during the install it gives you an option of what you want to install. I just choose the driver rather than the full software suite.
Ok I see thanks. I'll check it out to see if im missing anything.
For those that have picked up the X870E Tomahawk recently, don't forget to claim your £25 Steam voucher from MSI!
Thanks I forgot all about that!

Thanks! Only problem they want a picture of the serial on the motherboard not on the box.

I've already mounted the board. :(
Can't you just open the side of the case and take a photo of the serial number? I had everything installed and I still did it yesterday.
