Hi I recently bought and assembled a new (to me) pc but I can't get it to post. Most of the parts were from the Overclockers clearance section and are B-Grade, but I was assured that the parts still function.
Parts I bought:
MSI Mag x570 tomahawk wi-fi
Amd ryzen 5800x
Crucial Ballistix 16GB DDR4 600MHz Dual Channel Kit
WD Blue 3D NAND 1TB M.2 2280 Solid state drive
Using an old:
Corsair VS650 gold power supply
Xfx r7800 graphics card.
I knew I had to flash the new BIOS to get the ryzen 5000 to work, that seems to be successful.
All fans power on and plugged in peripherals light up.
However there is 0 visual output and VGA light from the EZ debug shines. The video cards fans spin up but apart from that appears inactive.
I have done all of the usual testing procedures:
Test with only 1 ram, no peripherals,
Use older bios,
Reset CMOS. (Done both battery remove and short jumper)
Swap ram stick place.
Use a different video card.
Try a video card with no extra power requirements.
Try a different output(VGA, DVI, HDMI)
Cpu_Pwr, atx_Pwr and video card power all connected.
All with no change.
This leads me to believe it's a faulty motherboard but I don't know if I'm missing something? I know it's an old video card but I tried others with the same result. Plus according to MSI it should be compatible.
Thanks in advance.
