MSI MEG X570 UNIFY or wait for the X570 Tomahawk?

Hi all,

I've currently got my new build ready to go apart from the motherboard. I've been waiting for the x570 Tomahawk but there are no signs of it appearing.

Would I be silly to get the x570 Unify instead? Is it still the better board? Or should I just be patient and wait?

What CPU you have?
If only 8 core there's no sense in very expensive boards and even Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite already has overkill VRM for 12/16 core.

I have the 3600X, but I'm planning to upgrade to the 4700x or equivalent when they arrive.

MSI B450 Tomahawk (or Carbon if needing Wifi) is perfect for those.
With working case cooling it would do decently well also with 12/16 core.

Luxury priced boards won't make base/mid level CPUs any faster/last longer and you would be just throwing money into wind.
In few years heavier games can give 12 core good workout.
Without SMT most cores would be already fully occupied in Star Citizen:

Okay thank you for your knowledge. Do you recommend the MSI B450 Tomahawk over the X570 Tomahawk then?
