MSI MEG Z390 ACE WiFi Antenna

I found a set on an auction site that say they are for a newer MSI motherboard but assume they should work just fine? I can't imagine the connections have changed from Z390 to Z690?

the motherboard connector is RP-SMA female
so, you just need the antenna connector to be RP-SMA male as long as you haven't snapped the motherboard connector
any antenna would do, you don't need to get MSI specific ones

You could also get a 5db or 7 or 9 or ever 12 db antenna which should (all things being equal) improve your signal strength.
Doesn't quite work like that for antenna.

2dbi is an omnidirectional antenna
As you increase the dbi, the horizontal range (IE distance) increases at the expense of vertical range. So it depends on where the computer is relative to the router

For example if you're in a loft extension and the router is on a ground floor lounge then a 2dbi Omnidirectional antenna is best rather than a 12dbi antenna as you need the vertical range as well
Or if you have a home office at the end of your garden but the router is at the front of the house then a 12 dbi antenna would be best because it has the longest range
