MSI Motherboard not identifying GTX Graphics Card

I bought a new motherboard MSI B450m VDH-Pro MAX and put in an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x with 16gb Corsair 3200MHz RAM. I put it all together and I put in the graphic card (which is an Nvidia GTX1060 6gb) and the computer wouldn't boot.
I tried another graphics card (which is an Nvidia GTX645) that booted successfully. In troubleshooting, I tested the power supply, RAM, hard drive and it all worked correctly.

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice?

Shouldn't make a difference on a 1060 but try setting the PCI-e gen in the bios to 2 (from auto).

This got my Kepler Titan to work on my wife's Gigabyte B450i despite the card working fine in every other system I have.
