I'm looking to upgrade my GPU/CPU to a RTX4070 Super + 5800X3D, from RTX2070 and 9700k. I had my eye on this Motherboard, but it's been out of stock for a little while - What's a decent alternative for this CPU (or is new stock coming within the week)?

What's the reasoning for going to a 5800X3D? If you're upgrading from a dead end socket/cpu it makes no sense to upgrade to another dead end socket (i.e. AM4).

Look at 7800X3D, or if you're budget doesn't stretch that high, then even a 7600/7600X will still give a big upgrade over a 9700k, and then you have the option of dropping in a faster chip at a later date.

£50 cost difference seems like a no brainer to get onto a new platform.

Looks interesting. Only issue is I'd be shelling out for completely new RAM as I'm using ***competitor link removed*** DDR4-3200 for another £100~.

That's not really a reason not to. Presumably you're a gamer, so at some point you'll need to move to 32GB (rather than your current 16GB), so might as well be now, as opposed to investing in more dead end DDR4.

If you'd already got 32GB of DDR4, then *maybe* I'd consider the 5800X3D, but as you haven't the £50 difference is a no brainer to get onto AM5 that will be supported with new processors for several years, giving you a lower cost upgrade path.
