Possibly a noob question, but will this mobo support my existing DDR4 3600Mhz Corsair Vengance Pro RGB?

3600 isn't listed in the mem support, but i may be being stupid here...

Think i've understood it now...

From MSI page:
  • 4x DDR4 memory slots, support up to 128GB1
  • Supports 1R 2133/ 2666/ 2933/ 3200 MHz (by JEDEC & POR)1
  • Max. overclocking frequency:
    • 1DPC 1R Max speed up to 5200+ MHz
    • 1DPC 2R Max speed up to 4800+ MHz
    • 2DPC 1R Max speed up to 4400+ MHz
    • 2DPC 2R Max speed up to 4000+ MHz
  • Supports Dual-Channel mode
  • Supports non-ECC, un-buffered memory
  • Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)
So my DDR4 kit is a 1DPC 2R, so i can use and O/C up to 4800MHz if the RAM supports it.
The 1R is if i'm running a single ram stick...

Hi i have this motherboard.

You should have no problem running your existing memory on this board and overclocking is pretty simple there are a lot of profiles for memory you can try when overclocking, i have 4 sticks of 8 Pack TFORCE 3200mhz cl14 memory currently overclocked to 3800mhz.

There is a new beta bios update out also which improves memory compatibility but i have not tried it yet i will wait until it comes out of beta.

I wonder why many people are not buying this one. Most are either getting the MSI pro A or some Aorus version . This one is kinda expensive compared to what it offers but went for it I haven’t unpacked yet as I’m waiting for other components

I was originally going to go for the MSI tomahawk at the time of launch of the Z690 but it was out of stock everywhere so went for the EDGE for an extra £30.

I came from an AOURUS Z390 and the MSI bios are far better than the gigabyte boards and just work.

I was in exactly the same situation where I was going for the Tomahawk

I’ve been toying with the idea of this Mobo too. There’s no real reason I other than to play with new kit. I can’t see the 12700k being much better than the 5800X.

what is the board like?
Does oc ram well?
