msi neo2 fr

hi my mobo is msi neo2 fr running
e2160 @ stock
8800gt@ stock
corsair ram @ 800mhz stock

but some times when i boot up it says that it failed to overclock!?? any one else have this board or the msi p35 plat which got this problem?

The Neo2 is one of the best P35 boards available, your setting must be unstable.

Have a look at the strap setting on this board, set it to 266 or 333 for overclocking, rather than 200 (default setting). It is a jumper on the motherboard somewhere.

But he's not overclocking.. it's all at stock...

Is your power OK? I sometimes get this with my MSI P35 Neo2 FR after recovery from an interruption to the mains power

try manually setting your RAM voltage if u haven't already.

all at stock settings, power is fine, ram set to 2.1v which is what it says on ram sticker

This is a good idea - have you tried this?

Also, what ram timings are being set? Using CPU-Z to find out. If the timings are tighter than the RAM's rated ones then that could be what's failing.

Have you cleared the CMOS to make sure all settings are at default before doing things like the RAM voltage?
