msi p35 neo2 - Flash BIOS without windows?

Hey everyone,

My friends just put together a new build with a rather large problem . . .

his msi p35 neo2 needs a BIOS flash to update it to become compatible with his Dual Core processor - At the moment he says it gets stuck doing POST when it starts, so he can't install windows, and when he goes into BIOS settings his keyboard stops working, he's tried both USB and PS/2 keyboards.

Does anyone have any ideas about what he could do?

Why dont he just chuck in a single core cpu then flash the BIOS, then put the new cpu in?

Does it need a BIOS flash due to the fact his board doesn't know the CPU parameters? Does he get any chance to change anything before it freezes?
