Hi All,

Im new here so be gentle!

I'm looking to get some RAM for the P55-GD80 mobo and have been told the Ripjaw does really well for performance and price.

I've got my eyes on one of these sets listed here:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produ...1&catid=8&sortby=nameAsc&subid=1387&mfrid=245

or

any other suggestions!

Which would be best to go for? Will be running the intel i5 750 with this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Cheers!

OK - the memory dividers are set up in such a way that if you want over 200BCLK with decent memory performance you need RAM rated well over 1600MHz so I would suggest you go for this GeIL and then run the memory multiplier at 4 with 18x QPI and rein in the timings as hard as possible once the CPU BCLK determines the ultimate speed of your RAM.

eg. Lets say your CPU tops out at 220BCLK, that will be 4.4GHz and your RAM will be running at PC3 1320MHz (3x Multi), PC3 1760MHz (4x Multi) or PC3 2200MHz (5x Multi).

So the answer, as I see it, is to buy the PC3 17000 RAM that will run stock at 2000MHz CAS9, and let it run at 1760MHz but at CAS7 (if you're lucky) or CAS8.

Does that make sense?

Lolll you've totally lost me!

Lets say that I overclock using OCGenie and not manually (i.e changing settings on BIOS), would the GeIL still be the best one to go or shall I go for the G.Skill 2000mhz (or 1600mhz with lower timings)?

Sorry for making it sound long winded! I just really dont wanna have to regret any purchase I make for this PC im building and then having the headache of returning/reordering etc.

Thanks in advance!

Guys 1 more quick question..sorry to sound like a clueless noob but will this be compatible with my msi p55-gd80 AND my intel i5 750? someone told me my processor may not be fast enough?!
