Hello All,
I recently bought a MSI P67A-C45 motherboard and a Core i5 2500k for my new build. I put it all together installed XP and then Win 7. All seemed to be running well and then the PC crashed (blue screened). I downloaded and installed all the latest drivers but the crash es seemed to become more frequent.
I eventually gave up with the windows 7 install and booted XP. Again all seemed to be running well. I had not installed any drivers as this seemed to make things worse on the 7 install but eventually it did crash not a blue screen though.
So I installed the drivers and now xp crashes with blue screen errors sometimes at boot up or shortly after boot.
I tried updating the bios to 1.5 and tried to reinstall but now I cant even get through the XP setup as it either blue screens or hangs.
I'm running the PC with the stock cooled (will change) and temps are 55 max an Corsair 650w PSU, Samsung F1 Sata, Kingston Generic DDR3 2 x 2gb, Gigabyte GTX460.
I have order some more RAM, a dual channel kit as this is the only thing i can think of but have tried booting and installing with 1 stick in at a time to see if 1 is faulty. I did also runn the memory test in the bios with both dimm in and they passed???
Sorry for the essay but I'm extremely fustrated with the whole thing as i was looking forward to the new kit and it cost me £300 quid for the board and processor. If the new memory doesn't resolve the problem it can only be the board I'm thinking?
Any idea's anyone? Anyone having similar problems?
Any help would be greatly appreciated?
