This board looks good, but there have been some complaints about the fact that the PCI-E slot which houses the bundled X-Fi card sits in between the 2 PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots.
Does this mean that your choice is either SLI or single card setup with X-Fi card installed? This seems to be a deal breaker for me. I thought about buying this, buy whats the point if you can't SLI properly (I know you can use the 3rd PCI-E x16 slot to get around the problem, but this isn't a future-proof solution because new cards will eventually make use of PCI-E 2.0).
If you go for SLI without the X-Fi installed, what are your options as far as sound is concerned? Onboard (and, if so, what is the onboard like in terms of quality and drag on system resources)?
