I'm changing my board from a asus 680i to the p7n, but when it starts to install vista it reboots.
It does the initial grey loading bar, then the vista loading bar appears then it reboots, I've stripped everything out except the ram, cpu, optical and gfx.

I have retested all components in my Asus board and they work ok. I have installed a 2ghz Intel dual core cpu in the board and this gets to the setup screen perfectly. I've tested the q6600 in another board and this is working ok, it seems to be an issue with the q6600 and this board, I've upgraded the bios to the latest release but it still wont work.

I've tested different RAM, different PSU, different HDD's, different Optical, changed BIOS settings / volts

tried everything, so I got a XFX board today and it works perfectly. I added a comment to this affect on the boards review on OCUK but so far it hasnt been posted, while searching around the net I've found loads of issues with the same CPU and board,

just to help anyone else having this issue, there seems to be a bug with certain Q6600's and the MSI diamond board, (I did post a review on OCUK but they dont seem to have posted it for some reason  )

If you go to the MSI website / forums and search for diamond and Q6600 there are loads of people with the same issues, I swapped it for a XFX in the end and its a much better performing board (my friend has a Q6600 & diamond combo, and mine blitz's it)

I run my Q6600 at 3.6Ghz stable on water.
