I have an MSI PM8M2-V and i need to know what CPUs are compatable with it.

I want to have a small up grade over the next month or so and i dont have enough cash to go out and get any new gen hardware so ill just have to upgrade :)

For future reference - Open google, type "MSI PM8M2-V" and it's the first link, would you believe? Top of the page. Too easy to be asking on here really.

You don't say what you have now, but unless it's a Celeron, you won't see any appreciable improvement in performance by upgrading to a better Pentium on that motherboard and a decent Pentium D is almost as expensive an E4300.

Save a bit harder. Track down a motherboard called an ASRock 775i65 and put an E4300 in it. You should be able to find those for about £125-£135 delivered as a package and you can use your existing RAM and graphics. The difference will be truly staggering.

Or - junk that board and CPU and go AMD.

The graphics on this board are excellent - it'll play most games at low settings or sell your existing kit and get yourself a decent PCIe graphics card.

Sorry if I come over all negative early-on in this post, but why should I do easy research that you could easily do yourself?
