MSI PRO B660M-A freezing in BIOS

Hi All​

First build for approx. 20 years!! Father and son project that has hit a slight problem and wondered if we can get some advice from anyone who has encountered the same problem.

We have assembled the components and the system powers up, then when navigating the bios (either keyboard or mouse clicks) it will freeze and the cursor disappear after a short period.
If you don't make any inputs then everything will be stable (you can still see the voltages/temp/time changing)
I have googled and can see that others have had this problem but no definitive answer.
The bios version is approx. from 2019 and there is multiple update on the MSI website, would it be a good idea to flash the bios to a newer version?

We have yet to try install Windows as I wanted to see if we could resolve this issue first.

Any help or pointers would be very much appreciated.. details of parts below...cheers Mark

Hi

Try a diffrent mouse or keyboarddap to another usb port or get an old ps2 keyboard then update the bios.

Great, I will have a go at that tonight. I did have them plugged into the header at the front of the case rather than at the back

Are you sure your motherboard bios is from 2019 ?

If so mite be worth updating.
