PX60 Video
Our P-series of notebooks is a very versatile series of machines. While the G-series focuses solely on gaming, and the W-series comprises of mobile workstations, the P-series is aimed at a professional audience that doesn’t necessarily need workstation-grade graphics.
The PX60 is actually fairly similar to the GS60, but is improved with a screen panel calibrated to 100% sRGB, featuring True Color technology. This is so you can edit images and video with sure-fire knowledge that your colors are exactly as they should be. It obviously also helps when watching movies, and for that the PX60 is using the same Dynaudio sound system as its G-series sibling.
The CPUs used are the same – Broadwell and Skylake options are available, Super RAID, USB 3.0 Type-C, and of course NVIDIA Graphics. In this case, the graphics used are a notch below what you would normally find in the GS60, the PX60 uses GeForce GTX 950M and 960M.
Have a look at what you can do with the PX60 below.

Just picked up the MSI PE60 2QE sporting the i5 4210H + GTX 960M (Base model), looks a fantastic bit of kit, and l was looking for a understated media/light gaming platform when l am not using my desktop.

It is a shame OcUK do not stock them (at the moment) so had to use a competitor :( looking forward to the screen as l am using an old Acer Aspire 5742G that l picked up cheap and forgotten how cramped 1366x768 is and the reflective screen is a killer :) but can't complain as l managed to snag it for very little. However need something with more than mono a speaker and a flaky screen for media consumption but to be fair it is 5+ yrs old.

Hi CEUOTC

Hope you enjoy it. I will speak to Gibbo about getting a small selection of Prestige in.

Hi CEUOTC

Good morning Loki.

That would be worth a shout, ideal platform for those who wish a low key system with most of the benefits of a portable gaming laptop.

Will post some pictures and thoughts once it is here and is set up.

Well the PE60 2QE is here and setup.

Specs where as follows:

Intel Core i5 4210H 2.9GHz
8GB Memory (Single stick, so single channel)
GeForce GTX 960M Graphics
1TB Hard Drive (7200rpm)
1920x1080 IPS Matte screen.
Windows 8.1

I have to say it is a fine looking laptop, the screen is fantastic!

Overall the laptop is quite thin and light, very mobile and quiet.

After emailing MSI Support UK to ensure l would not void the warranty, I opened it up and fitted a M.2 SSD and upgraded the RAM to 16gb. With a clean install of Windows 8.1 (Onto SSD) using the existing key the laptop flies along nicely. Do not try and clone the existing drive as it did not work to well (for me).

(Removing the bottom cover requires all the screws to be removed, also remove the optical bay drive and you will find 3 screws here, these need to be removed also. after that the use of a credit card/halfords card to prise off the cover is needed. Straight forward to fit once you need to fit it)

They keyboard is nice, however mine is spongy around the arrow keys and the bottom of the number keypad, nothing drastic tho. The back-lighting is well distributed over the keyboard and has a nice backlit affect.

I am in the process of moving my steam games onto the 1TB mechanical drive so not had a chance to test the GTX 960M yet.

Love the pre-sets for the screen, the "fan" boost works a treat, does cause the laptop to get a "little" noisy (that is what happens when you increase the cooling :) ).

The Laptop is nice and quiet, and is intelligently cooled which works well.

The Eco/Comfort/Sport function is a nice addition and will add some speed on Sport when gaming.

The sound is great imo from what l have tested, however still getting used to the Nahimic software to tweak this.

Over all a nice laptop, the aluminium finish on the rear of the screen and the palm-rest/keyboard area is very nice and fits well with the rest of the laptop with no obvious signs of miss alignment.

This system if it does not come with and SSD, defiantly needs one fitted as it makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.

Overall great work MSI.

I expect the newer models PX60 etc to be just as well made.

So if you want a understated mobile system capable of "some" gaming this could be for you.

Lets see if OcUK agrees.
