Howdy,

I have recently got myself a 7970 and i have a problem.

I cant seem to get the thing to increase voltage from 1.17, i have tried both Trixx and AB (official unlocked method), i have added the .dll files to the MSI folder as well as downloading the ATI patch files, edited the ULPS Regedit file, and i have done multiple driver clean ups and installations.

I can increase the voltage through both Trixx and AB without it reverting to stock but when i use HWInfo or HWMonitor to check the voltage has been changed it shows it being 1.17v,

i5 3570k
OCZ 650w PSU
Latest Non Beta drivers

Im stuck :(

I have the same card and all you should've needed to do was add the /xcl thing.

Mine still says 1.170 in Hwinfo. Just ignore it and clock away. The voltage is definitely being applied :)

Welcome to the forum btw :D

Hey Thanks for the welcome,

What kind of clocks are you getting?

i can it 1100 core on stock v, stock memory.

im just not convinced my voltage is being applied, both HW softwares cant be wrong surely?

Stock voltage of 1.175v gets me 1125. Maybe a little more, but I moved on after that :D
I've managed 1240 for benching (not sure on the voltage), but I run a 24/7 [email protected] depending on the game and 1800 on the memory at stock 1.6v.
Memory goes to 1850-1900 depending on the app on stock volts. Does 1900 stable on everything at 1.619v. Haven't tried to push it any further so far.

Edit: At 1200/1600/1.219v it still shows 1.17v in HWinfo. Ignore it mate :)

You've got no chance in the skill races, no chance! Only club can stop me in those. Actually it could have been a mistake inviting him now i think about it. Efforts must be doubled. A defeat at the hands of club will be bad for morale.

Congrats on the sammy. Only way i can run 1T is if i ditch 8gb which i don't want to do.

Annnnnnnnd back on topic! If you need any help OP just shout. We have a passionate contingent of msi 7970 oc card owners here. We are blood brothers.

Wow, hey guys, should I come back?lol

I have read that guide, followed it to the letter on the AB side of things.

I don't think there's a problem as such, its just I use the HWInfo to monitor sensors etc so when I don't see a change to something I've in played with I thought "hmm" some things not right.

I'll just throw some volts in and see what's what.

Will update if I make any progress.

Cheers for the replies.

Sorry mate. :p

I have the same card and use afterburner + HWinfo. It reports incorrect voltage and fan speeds so just ignore it. Use afterburner to monitor voltage and fan speed. :)
