Hi,

I'm currently in the process of building my first gaming PC, I've selected the MSI 970 Gaming AMD Motherboard and the MSI R9 270 which I'm thinking of getting another one later on in the year to run as crossfire.

Just wanted to hear peoples thoughts on this whether it would be worth it or not or maybe some potential suggestions for me.

Thanks.

I have that card in my second pc, great bang for buck. With the MSI though, you can't put more than 1.225v through, which will limit overclocking. I think the sapphire will allow 1.3v, so might be a better idea. I Know this because I tried flashing the bios to it.

Thanks for your advice. I've got a whirlwind of things I wanna try out and change around in my first build any advice is appreiciated! Once I get all my parts I will post it all up.

I have these 2 Cards in my rig they run everything I chuck at them in 1080p with max settings , if your definitely going to crossfire be sure to get the 4gb version :)

What games will you be playing and at what resolution? Can you give us your full system specs?

Depending on your answer to the above i would be looking at getting a 270 crossfire setup or selling your single 270 and getting a 290.

Sure:

MSI 970 Gaming Motherboard
AMD FX 6300
2x 4GB Corsair DDR3 Vengeance @1600

and mainly @ 1920 x 1080 - 1080p on my 27" Asus Monitor, and a wide variety of games ranging from Battlefield 4 to DayZ etc.

Let me know if you need any more info.
