MSI R9 280X - how to run two monitors?

Just ordered one of the MSI 280X's from Overclockers for my new build as the Christmas day offer was too good to pass up.

There's just one possible slight issue for me. When doing work on my PC I use two monitors to display all the apps I'm using. My current 6870 has two DVI ports on it which is handy has one monitor has DVI and VGA whilst the other is a bit older (but still working great) and only has VGA.

The MSI 280x only has one DVI output and then a HDMI.

Would I be right in thinking I can use the DVI output with the VGA adaptor to run my older screen and then use the HDMI with a HDMI to DVI adaptor to connect to my main screen?

I've got old spare graphics I could use for using run the VGA screen (not crossfiring just sticking it in as another card) but I'm guessing that's not ideal?

Any help would be great thanks!

Neither monitor has hdmi unfortunately. The bigger, better monitor has a dvi input so I'm hoping that one will take the output from the hdmi port on the 280x when run via a hdmi to dvi cable.

That seems reasonable right?
