Hello as some of you may know I been battling GPU's temps on these cards. Adding in custom side fans etc, Underclocking etc nothing really worked.

Before - Top card hitting 94c bad case air flow.

Setup - Two fans to close to each other.

After :D success now top card just 78c after two loops Heaven 4.0

New case setup, needed a new Motherboard to get them this far apart from each other. Ignore some of the cable still need to tidy up abit.

Ghetto Mod :D The Corsair Carbide 540 only has two 3.5 Hard-drive mounts they looks nice at the bottom, but because where I mounting the GPU they also most touched. So need some where else for them to go :D

Not that I suspect it makes too much difference, but doesn't putting one card in the bottom slot reduce the speed of the PCI-e lane?

Not on this board why I picked it :D

Dual 16X, triple 8X and I have in running now 16x 8x

Asus p8z77 ws is the board.

Before I bought it on did do some testing to see what the temps was like. My old bored did 16X single or dual 8X or 8x 8X 4x.
Doing what I did on my old board got me very poor performance.

So if you can do 16x 16x and you're doing 16x 8x then it is reducing the speed otherwise it'd be 16x 16x...

16X 16X if I use the blue slots. But then I be back square one.
The difference between 8X and 16X is very little but the difference Between 16x and 4x was very bad in my testing around 50-60fps loss.

Yeah, this is why I started with "Not that I suspect it makes too much difference" :)

Really want to but at the same time scared to do it. Haaa

Pfft! What could go wrong?
I mean yes I did kill my 5870 fitting a waterblock (but my 480 was fine so I'm 1 for 2), but...

Couple things known me Haaa. Would maybe like to do my first water setup on a rig I don't care about. Doubt any warranty will cover water damage.

I did this. Built a AMD 1055T based rig initially with a 4870X2 with pre-fitted block. But as that was only DX10 that's when I attempted to fit the 5870 from my other rig (that I had just upgraded). When that broke I bought a new GTX480 (they were on offer) and went from there.
When I say went from there I mean realised/decided my temps weren't good enough and I really needed to re do, well, everything...

Oh, also the motherboard caught fire (yes, in a watercooled rig, is that irony?) but I don't think it was because of the watercooling.

I'm not helping am i? :)

Makes me feel happy about my air cooled pc Haaa.

My temps with these two cards arranged like your first picture seem to be OK. I have 2 120mm fans blowing cold air onto them. Need to keep a closer eye on them though to make sure they aren't going too high. Don't really want to upgrade my mobo yet as I also need a cpu upgrade and can't really justify both.
