So i upgraded today with the following:

SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black
MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Specs prior to upgrade:
Intel core i7 2600 - Gelid GX7 High Performance Quiet PC Cooler
Foxconn H67MP-S
6gb DDR3 1333Mhz ram
MSI AMD Radeon HD 6850 Gfx card
Asus Xonar DX 7.1 Sound card
120Gb OCZ SSD
500Gb Sata HDD
Zalman z9 Case
Windows 8.1
Corsair Builder Series CX 430W

Ive succesfully installed the new power supply and its working perfectly, no issues with any components.

The graphics card on the other hand.. Isn't working out so well. I get zero video output through any port HDMI/DP/DVI x2. The 8pin and 6pin PCI-E cables are connected

So far the fixes ive tried are:
Install drivers
Boot without a graphics card in and reboot after installing graphics card
Boot with my old graphics card again (works fine with new PSU)
Change BIOS to boot priority PCIE

I've tried to update the BIOS but apparently mine is up to date anyway says the foxconn tool plus i dont want to play around with the bios settings too much.

Ive considered the idea that the PSU isn't powerful enough but ive been reassured time and time again that it is perfectly capable..

Does anyone have any ideas? I kinda feel bummed that ive just spent £220 on a card that i cant get to work and £50 on a PSU that i didn't need if this card doesn't work.. What are my options if i cant get it to work?
