Does one even exist anymore? They make you go through the hassle of uploading invoices and what not only to bounce everyone back to the distributor, in my case the distributor bounces me back to MSI...

By law, your retailer is ultimately responsible as your sales contract exists with them, not MSI.

Amazon weren't having it, fortunately, MSI provided a direct email to their UK component RMA department and it looks like I'll get it sorted.

Quick update, had to send the card to their Poland RMA centre, cost the best part of £50

Will not be touching any of their components again, even if the risk of having to return another product is extremely low.

They not create a collection label if under warranty? They should refund you if it is covered under the warranty. It is a headache when you finally have to navigate an RMA process. You'll need to push them to refund the postage costs if indeed the product has failed.

You should definitely contact them and get that refunded, major PITA and you're out of pocket for receiving their faulty product....

The label provided wasn't paid for and the email stated that the delivery cost was to be covered by me. They only cover the return cost.

Is it an item under 1 year old or still under a longer warranty? Under 1 year the retailer is meant to handle it, after that it is the manufacturer.

this doesn't sound right. they should definitely be providing paid postage label. if they found the part is in working order then they have the right to charge you for the postage to them and also the return postage. but diagnostics should have been done before anything is to be sent out to ascertain if it is a RMA.

@MSIUK Support can you help out here? it looks extremely poor support from MSI

With Gigabyte, you pay return postage to send direct under warranty returns, whatever your cost to send it to them, GB want £15 postage from you to get it sent back, they are off my list too.

However the retailer I bought it from covered all postage, this was 18 months after purchase so was very impressed by them.

Ah it depends who sold it to you. I am guessing that the rainforest does not cover you with a one year warranty because they were not the actual seller ( you really have to watch that on the rainforest ) it is up to whoever sold it to you. You should go back to the actual seller, and they should guarantee it for one year. Either way it is the rainforests explicit rules that any seller on the rainforest MUST provide a return label. If they do not then you can come back to the rainforest, say what has happened and they will refund you. It may still be possible to get a refund on that £50.

HOWEVER! If it is more that one year old then none of the above applies. You do have to send it to MSI at your own cost. And yeah, for that reason I always buy Gigabyte. With them you still have to pay shipping but it's in the UK so it's a lot less.
