Msi rtx 4080 ventus 3x oc temp and questions

hi guys i just got my 4080 ventus today and i was previously on amd gpu side
i have a question whats the max safe hotspot temp on this gpu?
in game im getting max around 80c is that ok
im trying to find info online but cant find anything concrete

80c hotspot is good as safe temps are up to 110c so no worries .

oh wow i thought the hotspot max was around 84c
i just checked hwinfo and it says gpu thermal limit is 84c
im not sure what that means
unless im seeing things wrong?

also is there a way to show the hotspot temps via msi afterburner riva tuner?
its only showing me the standard gpu temps

My Gigabyte aero 4080 runs at 44c in games with fan set on auto.

Hotspot is not the overall GPU temp it's just a miniscule area on the GPU die that gets hotter than the rest of the die .

Yes you can display GPU hotspots in riva tuner as well as memory temperature and many more.
If those stats are not available through afterburner riva tuner can pull it from hwinfo64.

how do i get it to pull the gpu hotspot from hwinfo please?
that would be really helpfull i cant seem to find a way

Right click on the sensor you want to add to your OSD and choose OSD (RTSS) settings.
From there you set line and row where the sensor will appear within your OSD.
You can also rename it.

125ºC officialy is where chip will start degradation.
105-110ºC is when throttle will start to avoid going up and up.
