A friend purchased a new PC from some internet cowboy outfit, the video card failed after 2 months,

They say ha ha go away (not purchased on a credit card)

I told him no issues we will return to MSI, MSI say ha ha go away its the sellers issue we don't care, i explained the seller will not help, they still say return to the seller, i explained the selling will not help again, they keep just sending back stock very long emails saying return to the seller.

I thought I could just return straight to the manufacturer?

What is the reason the retailer is refusing to help?
a little more digging (my friend is a bit special) he was contacting the market place not the seller, i got the sellers details and they went into administration last year! (just after he got the machine).. I asked MSI is they might consider a direct return taking that into consideration ...

result MSI will accept a direct return...! After i told them the original setting not longer existed

the catch... the service centre is in Poland! We have to pay for shipping both ways, and its £70 to send it there (using the courier they suggest)...

Is there any reason why you're not answering the other questions people have thrown in to help? Like did he use a visa debit card? Because if the company has gone out of business I'd perhaps look at trying that approach rather than spending £70 each way.
oh ive not been getting notifications,

I did not know you could dispute a transaction on a visa debit card... its all done now got him a used 1670 super..

I see market place mentioned, so I presume it's most likely Amazon.

As others have asked how did you get on sending it back to MSI?
it was something like 70 to send it back using the courier they said we should use, since it was not a 100% guarantee of getting it fixed when it was sent back i decided it was not worth the cost / risk.. Told him to sell it as faulty on the bay
