Why's it running that slow? surely it should be running at the rated 625/725 (1450) ???
Removed X850XT properly, installed the latest ATI catalyst drivers too. I does overclock the memory to 850 in ati tool before it gets artifacts but for some reason atitool crashes above 550 clock??? i've noticed the fan doesn't spin up even at 75c what temp does it come on?
More to the point it shouldnt have to be overclocked to run at its 625 core speed its supposed to be.
I'm only getting 10500 3d marks in 3dmark05, and i was expecting a lot more than that.. in 3dmark01 it's only took me from 25990 on the AGP 850XT to 29450 on the new X1900!! thats just rubbish!!
Someone help please!!?

Search and yee shall find that this has been asked a 1000 times :p

Yes, that is 2D clocks.

Search for X1900XT clocking guide by me if you want to overclock it properly.

CR.

FIXED. :p

and the reason the x1900 didnt give a great score jump in 3dmark01 is because the benchmark uses outdated shaders etc... that the x1900 wasnt really built for...

Well that will explain the small change in 01 and the fact my score doubled in 05

i don't like the fact that Everest only says 16 pixel pipelines!

Hmm my everest doesn't even detect it, though I am using the free version. As for the 16 pixel pipelines, that is correct. As I recall, there are 3 pixel shader processors per pipeline which gives 48 in total.

In any case your 3dmarks are normal for your specs. Try 3dmakr06, you should get a massive jump in that.

there are only 16 pipes on the x1900xt, only card to have more than 16 pipes is 7900 series. they got 24 pipes.

fill rate = number of pipes x clock speed.

the 7900gtx has clock speed of 650 core with 24 pipes so its fillrate is far greater than the x1900xtx

I only read this to see how a thread, asking why an x1900xt is running at 500/600, could have 10 replies! ;)
Thats why I have just read it! :p

01 = huuuugely CPU limited

05 = cpu limited
06 = cpu limited

lol
:rolleyes:

Care to explain why in 3d05 my score increased by about 100 points going from a X2-3800 @ 2.6 to a Oppy170 @ 2.75 ;) :p

Well, reading threads on XS by the big overclockers, said that 20k wont be seen in 2005 because of CPU limitation which now conroe has removed.

Also a 7900GT isn't the best gfx card there is, I have CPU bottleneck at 2.6ghz with a X2 and a X1900XT-X.

:)

:confused: i am also cpu limted in 05 i am shore i can get a much higher score at the minute it is 11980 any good for two gt's ?
