Hi all

I have started to have weird issues with the above motherboard. It started today after I installed another NVME drive in one of the M2 slots.
Previously was rock stable, but all of a sudden, I got the blue screen of death in Windows 11 with various codes - memory problems/page problems.. etc. There are times when even BIOS gets frozen.
Obviously first thing was to remove the new drive - WD_black SN770 but the problems persisted. Tried the same drive in another computer no issues
I have done memtest for RAM - no issues
RAM standard or EXPO enabled makes no difference
I have updated to the latest BIOS from MSI - I could boot into Win. but the issues are still there with a random blue screen
The weird thing is all this started after I tried to install the new drive???

rest of the system - 7800x3D, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 2x16GB 6000MHz CL30, 4900 GTX, Corsair RM1000 power supply Samsung 990 1000GB NVMe drive with Win 11 installed

My question: is my MB defect- I will ask MSI for replacement/repair in that case, and is it worse re-installing the Windows - lots of headache if I have to - I am reluctant to do the latter as the frozen incidents in BIOS makes me think this is an MB problem and not a software issue

my hunch is that the second m.2 slot runs off the chipset and it’s an AMD chipset driver issue.

Install the latest chipset drivers and see if that helps.

Use both the drivers from the motherboard manufacturers website and the drivers off AMDs website and see if that helps.

@ShellShock - I have checked that resited RAM , etc, and none seems to be loose
@JollyJamma - that's a good idea, on the MSI website the chipset drivers are 8 months old but I can see on AMD significantly newer driver- will try that
I had a similar issue with my X570 Tomahawk.

I had to try 3 different configurations, no chipset drivers, the ones off the MSI website and the ones from AMD.

Can’t remember what I chose in the end and I switched to a B550 chipset anyway so it didn’t matter in the end.
