I'm having a little trouble understanding the cpu voltage behaviour on my new z370 sli plus with a 8700k.
I'm aiming for 4.8Ghz on all cores.I'm not expecting miracles on a lower end board but it's just not doing what I think it should. I've read that using adaptive vcore is desirable as you can set the upper limit and it will drop down when idle.
My settings
LLC is set to level 4
Auto voltage sets it to 1.23v
Adaptive voltage is always 1.25v, it completely ignores whatever value I actually stick in there.
Adaptive+offset will at least change when I enter a value but the scale is not the same.
For example
Set 1.25v actual 1.28v offset needed -0.03
Set 1.2v actual 1.24v offset needed -0.04
Hopefully that's clear
Anything I'm doing wrong? I can't work out why adaptive is ignoring the entered value completely.
Currently running prime on auto so [email protected]
