Just looking at boards for i5 2500K

does anyone know what the 6 pin power slot is for above the pci-e slots ,i was rather

So what's it for enlighten me.

All it says in the user manual is that it provides power to the graphics card.

Some motherboards have a power connector in that location for use when using multiple graphics cards, usually a molex connector.

Ah so you think it just boosts the PCI-E power to the board?

Do you think that would be a good board for a first time sandy bridge user (always been on AMD but considering the change along with another 6950)

It's supposed to make it more stable, but it runs fine without it in my experience.

Could you do me a big favour and post up a pic of the space between the cards when using sli,

from pics it looks like 1 slot space but i wanted to be sure and can't find any on google

Thx i'd appreciate it just want to get a visual idea

Not sure how much help these are but there you go. As you can see there is a pci slot wth a tv card in it and an empty pci e 1 slot between the gpus.
