any help appreciated

Is the memory XMP profile set upso the RAM is running at 2133Mhz and not 1600Mhz?

CPU-Z will show you the current dram frequency (remember to times it by 2 as its DDR so it should say 1066Mhz)

I am not familiar with the BIOS on MSI Z97.

But somewhere I would think would be a list of Turbo boost values starting at 44X and decreasing down as each core is utilised till it hits say 41/40.

If you set all these to 44X then whenever the CPU is placed under load no matter how many cores are being used, it will be 4.4Ghz.

To prove this you can download SuperPI which is a single threaded application and while running a test (use a million or more places so it lasts longer than a few seconds) you should see the core speed reported at 4.4Ghz.

But if you get CinebenchR15 which will use all the cores you should see the max core speed shown as either 4Ghz or 4.1/4.2Ghz (again it depends on what the turboboost values are) at a guess.

So if you then set those Turoboost values all to 44X then rerun Cinebench and it should then say 4.4Ghz while running.

If it is not stable then set LLC (loadline calibration) to its max value.

If that doesnt work start messing with the Vcore

Thats not particularly tough RAM to run, XMP set should be working just fine.

I guess you could try seeing how old the boards BIOS is.
