MSN: Contacts Not Showing Online

For some reason, the majority of my MSN contacts are not showing as online when I know they are

I have uninstalled everything and reinstalled it, but there is still the same problem...

On a more serious note: I have had that sometimes with individual persons, eg. SkeeterPSA says on xfire he's online on msn while I look on msn and he's not, and he claims I'm offline, while I'm clearly online and can see&talk to other people...

Time fixed it usually, leave it for 20 minutes and it was fine again, we saw each other.
I never identified the problem, but I suspect it's something with the internet connection of one of us.

Have you tried a different msn program like Miranda IM or ( I never used it but heard about it) Trillian ? If it's the same there then perhaps go over your networking & internet settings? I don't really know. Or try web messenger ? If it's the same even there, then it's just the MSN network being ******.
