I've got an annoying problem with MSN Live (8.1..78).

When I login it shows me who is online etc as usual. But after that, the list will not update unless I sign off. So I can be sitting here, thinking that my friend is online, when in fact he's not!

What makes it even worse is, when I sign in, I can only send/recieve messages for a 30 seconds. I can carry on sending a message, but my contact will not recieve it - vice versa.

It only started a few days ago aswell. I've tried a reinstall, installed an older version. Same thing. Running Vista, and Windows Firewall.

Any ideas? :(

Are you running a hardware firewall? Does Web Messenger work? If it does then it implies it is the install somehow.

Perhaps you could try Pidgin as well to see if that works. Are you running A-Patch or the Mess.be patch?

Yeah, I'm running a hardware firewall (Netgear DG834). I've tried Meebo and that works fine.

Hmm, I download all my patches from Mess.be. I've tried it without the patch (clean install) and it doesn't work.

Is there some issue with one of the patches you have mentioned?

i had the same problem its because you have the latest firmware - install the previous firmware and it will solve problem. This is what i did

Other solution is to change the netstack autotune level (someone else can help with that)

I wasn't saying there was an issue with the mess.be patch, I just wanted to know if you had used one so we could work out if that had caused the errors. :)

Ah! That is something I have changed recently :)

I'll downgrade again and check it out. Thanks :)
