MSN Login Problems

Hi Guys

I have only recently built a new rig with vista 64.

I can't log on to msn messenger.

(Being deprived of my basic needs)

I have the latest version of messenger live installed.

Any Ideas? :confused:

Got a firewall (hardware or software) that could be blocking this? Try out http://webmessenger.msn.com/. If that works then its your PC settings. If it doesn't then MSN is blocked by perhaps your router?

Could be your firewall. I know my Netgear has an option to close IM ports. Do you have a hardware firewall? Or just a software one?

I have a netgear router which has a firewall but doesnt block msn on my other pc or my bro's pc.

I'm using the windows firewall at the moment (which is allowing mesenger live).

I'm planning on installing comodo firewall soon.

Ah. Want to try disabling the Windows firewall and trying MSN again? But good plan on the Comodo firewall. :cool:

Comodo should be easier to configure than the Windows firewall so if its still blocked then Comodo should ask you for permission or you can just set it yourself.

Tried it with windows firewall off but still didn’t login. :confused:

I'll try it with comodo tomorrow.

Strange. We've established the router isn't the problem so I would have thought it would be the Windows firewall.

Yeah try it with Comodo and see if that works. If not come back and we'll see what we can do.
