MSN Messenger Error 80072745

Well I've been getting this since around yesterday and i found a solution, but i was wondering if someone could explain why this fixed it and if it has to stay this way.

Basically the fix is to disable UPnP in my Netgear Router, will anything happen with it disabled? Lag in games, UTorrent stop working etc?

And why is it all of a sudden UPnP stopped msn from working when it was fine before?

This seems familar to the problem I'm having, didn't work for about a day but I never changed anything on the router. Just started working which was weird.
