hi i have just moved address so i have a new email address is there a way i can change my msn messenger email address so i can keep all of my contacts?

Sign into old account.
Menu > Contacts > Save Instant Messaging Contacts
Sign out
Sign into new account
Menu > Contacts > Import Instant Messaging Contacts

I take it, when you do that, everyone on your list will get a prompt saying "<new address> has added you as a friend, do you want to add, or block them" ?

They will indeed. There's no way around that as far as I am aware.

Would be a good feature to implement in the future

Well i'm glad it 'does' do that really, otherwise that would be a sneaky way to avoid being on peoples blocked lists

Fair point. Maybe a facility to migrate to a new email address, whereby it disables the old one and updates all your friends' contact lists automatically.

Perhaps a "XYZ has changed their email address to [email protected]" notification would be prudent in any case.

Doubt that'll arrive any time soon, they're too busy ruining the UI
