MSN not working

Hi all,

I recently changed my crappy Sky Router for a Netgear DG834PN. Very happy, internet is now much quicker, wireless range is excellent.

However, MSN just will not sign in from the Mac Pro or my Macbook. I've tried Mercury (what I normally use) and Microsoft Messenger and neither of them work

However, MSN works perfectly on a clients XP machine I have sitting right here...

any ideas?

Maybe some thing to do with a firewall?
I know nothing about MACs.
