Hi all,

Can any one shed light onto why I am experiencing a vary bad screeching when ever I try to hold a video message on MSN etc,
the squeal can be heard by both parties to the extent that you have to mute the sound.

The camera is a logitech with a built in microphone and Internet is via cable

Cheers

Dead mic probably. That or the mic gain is too high.
This would be better off in the sound forum i think. It's not likely to be the connection or the line if it only affects sound.

feedback???

is a mic close to speakers? - try using headphones instead of any speakers.

do a search for feedback and it'll explain the loop-back sound of the speakers through the mic and then heard again on the speakers to only be picked up again via the mic. Of course this may also happen at the other persons computer - doubling up the effect.

Make sure both parties are using headphones and mics with speakers turned off.

or turn down the speakers / direction the mic (and try turning the mic down)...

Hope this makes sense and helps.
Alex
