i have ripped a blu ray disc to my hard drive and would like to put the file back on a blu ray and play through my ps3.

i have mt2s files one of these files 28.3gb is the main movie. could i just put this on a disk and it plays? if not what software would i need?

Ignoring the fact that this sounds like you've copied a film, I'd just try it and see. If you don't want to waste a blu ray disc, I would dump the mt2s file onto an external USB hard drive if you have one and see if the PS3 will play it from that. If it does, then I see no reason why it won't play from a bluray disc.

The PS3 will play a M2TS from a USB device or its internal hard drive without a problem. The PlayTV device records to this format. I'm not sure if it will play the M2TS file from a disc though.

The problem with the advice above, is that external USB drives for the PS3 need to be FAT32, with the 4gb file limit.

If you wanted to play this file on the PS3, I guess there would be two ways.

Either burn this file on a rewritable bluray disk and play off the disk, or stream it over the network, which is what I do here.

You could also use this method to copy the file off the PC and onto the PS3 HDD, though if you haven't upgraded your PS3 HDD, then you'd better watch out for available space.

Those are the only methods I can think of.
Vin.

EDIT: and if you have trouble streaming or playing the file on the PS3 from a disk, I'd try renaming the file to .mpg
