I've started slowly buying parts to build up a bike, the intention being to build what I feel comfortable with and having my LBS do the rest. I'm looking at my options for wheels and could do with some advice. Budget wise I want to achieve good value for money so will pay for quality bits which offer better performance than their cheaper peers but still want to keep costs down as much as poss.

For rims, considering tyre size I'm looking at something with an inner diameter of 25-26mm and want to keep it down to under £50 per rim. I think I've settled on WTB Frequency I25's but are there any other options?

Secondly hubs, Hope Pro4's and DT350's seem to crop up as good choices but there don't seem to be any cheaper choices which get good reviews. Is this the case and anything cheaper than these would be a false economy?

Yeah I saw those but only the 24mm were available. I'm quite a heavy guy so wasn't sure if they would be suitable for either me or tyres up to 2.4 / 2.5 diameter. Am I way off in my thinking?

Great suggestions all, many thanks.

Good spot on the Superstar offer, they don't have the rim option I'd like so I've dropped them a mail.
