MTP vs. mass storage

Hi all

My camera defaults to MTP mode, but I want to be able to view my camera's files in Windows Explorer as if it were just another drive, i.e. move from camera to PC and delete from camera.

MTP mode seems OK, except I have to delete all files from within the camera's software.

What would I lose by using USB mass storage instead of MTP?

This was exactly what I was just about to post. Took 177 photos (carried away) and copied across. Then camera had 177 'cannot display' photos.

Cant delete ALL, luckily can delete all by date. But would prefer to copy and they disappear.

Cut and paste instead of copy and paste?

Cut and paste seems to do the same. Guess its an annoying feature of this camera.
