Much of a diff between a amd 4400+ and a 6000+

Its a AM2 with this board http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2/M2V/#specifications

I built it for him about 5yrs ago but about 2yrs I upgraded his memory to decent corsair xms2 4gb, better cpu cooler and a faster hdd(Samsung F1 HD322HJ 320GB) to make it as stable and reliable as poss, as he started using his pc for work. That idea has worked as he has been running vista for the last 2yrs with very few probs.

So I thought a 6000+ would give it another nice boost as the hdd or mem wont be slowing things down, going from 2.2ghz to 3.0ghz?

Plus Im in the process of replacing his psu, as his enermax 480watt just gone pop.
