I have 4GB DDR2 667MHz RAM in my system atm but obviosly it only counts for 3.2GB as I have Windows Vista Home Premium X32 Bit.

Is there much point in upgrading my OS to X64 bit? How much will it cost and where will I get it from?

Thanks in advance. ;)

You may be able to get a 64bit disk from Microsoft which only cost's around £7 including postage. Is your Vista a full retail or upgrade version. If it's either of those you can definately get the disk. If it's a OEM version then i am not sure if you can get the disk.

The OS came installed on the PC when I bought it in September 2007. Does this mean that it is full retail? I didn't upgrade it from earlier versions.

If I can get a x64 disk for £7, can you send me a link to it please?

It's good I only have to pay £7 for an extra 800MB of RAM. :)

In that case it's probably a manufacturers OEM disk so you most likely will not be able to take advantage of the upgrade. Is it a Dell/Compaq/Hp or similar brand pc? They tend to have OS that only work on their pc's.

This is the link and it's at the bottom of the page. I believe it's only for retail/upgrade versions though and not OEM. It asks for your serial number on the next page which will let you know if you are able to use the upgrade path.

It is a MESH PC.

Is there any other way to get x64 bit or to make my computer actually use the whole 4GB of my RAM?
