It was fantastic to see the great man at the opening ceremony but it was equally heartbreaking to see how almost zombified he looks.

To see how Parkinson's has deteriorated his health is so sad to see. Still the greatest heavyweight ever to step into the ring though.

Clearly no idea where he was or what the he'll was going on, he was wheeled out and put on display.

No way to treat a sporting legend

Disgusting

It is possible his health has deteriorated to that point. In later stages of Parkinson's, Dementia is common.

My Gran had Parkinson's and as her condition worsened she developed Dementia.

I don't think the olympics woudl take the **** tbh. Would Ali not want to be at olympics?

Definatly, I'm sure he would love to be there of sound mind or not, and i'm sure they wouldn't want to parade him in such a manner either. Plus were merely speculating on how badly his disease has progressed, for all we know he might just have really bad movement now because of his condition or medication and has a sound mind of his own still to make such decisions.

Is he of unsound mind?

A mates dad has live with debilitating Parkinson's for 30 years; physically he's pretty shot but mentally he's still as sharp as a tack.

I had tears streaming down my face when I saw how bad he is, and I'm not afraid to admit that. Absolute legend, and it's horrible seeing him like that. :(

He's a shell of his former self :(...really heartbreaking to see him in that condition.

Still the greatest boxer ever to box imho and a superb humanitarian.
