Other pages don't specificly state this (sales sites, wikipedia, webopedia...):

Is the clock speed quoted for the chip the speed per core or combined?

Combined wouldn't make much sense to me, but I'd to know for sure.


Secondly: There are two versions of the Q6600 code 2 quad - one being an energy efficient version. Is there any known performance difference between the two, and is one better for overclocking? Thanks in advance

hi there rigsta, the speed's stated are per core just as the dual cores are. and as for the difference the energy efficient versions run a lot cooler therefore enabling a larger overclock these are the ones to get currently in the members market nearly everyone with the earlier revision is selling theirs to get the G0 (energy efficient stepping) :p
