Just read on bit-tech that Valve is going to implement multi-core support for the Source engine.

"This year, Valve is talking to us about what is possibly its most difficult iteration of the Source engine yet - adding multi-thread support to make the most of the new dual-core and quad-core CPUs coming from Intel and AMD. The timing of the day is to coincide with the release of Intel's Kentsfield quad-core chip, which is released today."

You should really check out the article, I can't link it here as it has loads of advertisements.

Half it get puts to use. The other half gets bored and starts randomly crashing your games in an attempt to annoy you :p

Play with me! Play with me? Please play with me..... PLAY WITH ME! Right, screw you. I'm going to crash your game now... mwahahaha... try playing without me now.

this if done well could be a big boost as this game responds best to upgraded cpu power not like cod2 where the gfx card was the weak link

:D i only ever had one problem that was with BF2 just installed a patch and pooof the problem has never returned.

I just find it makes windows a lot snappier and good for using with adobe. oh and plus Q4 multi-core melarky HUGE improvements, lets just hope Valve get it right for the source monkeys out there! cos even with the system i have i get slow down when things get hectic. Which is no good for those headshots.
