Hey all,
For the last 6 months I've been very happy with a Epson RX600 multifunction device.
However, recently it displayed a message stating it needed to be returned for repair before use could be continued. We returned it to the supplier, whom informed us it was uneconomical to repair, and an alternative could be purchased up to the value we had paid for it originally (£199), due to the garentee.
Unfortunately, it was not from our usual supplier (OcUK), so the selection on offer is limited, and the prices are somewhat higher. Now I recieve the money in vouchers, so I'm at no loss from choosing a cheaper one, but I would like to take this opportunity to upgrade.
I haven't looked at the printer market in a while, so would appreciate any recomendations on the following:
CANON PIXMA MP600R / MP600
- The MP600 looks good, but has a smaller price than the Epson RX560 (see below), despite having seemingly better tech specs. The MP600R looks like just a wireless version of the same thing, and while that could proove useful, I'm not sure if it's worth the extra price.
HP PHOTOSMART C6180
- The most expensive of the replacements. Doesn't appear to compare to well to the cheaper MP600 though.
CANON MP700
- Could be better than the MP600? More expensive, and yet seemingly less 'mod' design.
There's also the CANON MP830, but that's a tad more expensive. They also stock the EPSON RX560, but I'd rather not downgrade.
As far as what I'm after: quality of print (mainly text, with occasional photos) and quality of scan is the most important factor. Speed is less important, and noise even less than that. I have no interest in looks or software bundles.
Any help appreciated!
