I'm getting pretty heavily into multi GPU rendering using Redshift 3D.

Currently running 2 titans on a px58d-e with an i7 920 at 4Ghz, and think the cards may be being limited by the pci-e bandwidth. I'm looking for the best option to run a 4930k, 32Gb ram and the titans, as well as possibly adding another down the line. I have the PSU covered already (1300w), and would like to stick with the case which is a fractal R3. Will be overclocking to a 24/7 level, so not pushing the limits too much, maybe 4.4... It would be nice to have some space between the cards.

I've considered the asus p9x79-e ws, and the asus x79 deluxe (as it seems to be the newest board out there?), be great to hear any thoughts!

Cheers, I'll definitely keep an eye on that thread.

So with 3 cards (2 at x16, one at x8) that maxes out the 40 pci-e lanes right? Wonder if there's any benefit to using the 3 x16 option of other boards, or if the chip that provides the extra lanes adds latency.
