Multi monitor gaming input issue

I want to play a game on the TV with a controller whilst the missus works on the same PC. But when I'm trying to play the game gets interrupted when she uses the mouse, even though I've locked it to the monitor she is using. How do I solve this chaps?

Presume you're using borderless windowed mode, but if the game loses focus when she clicks on something else its likely the input isn't going to continue to go to your game.
